Seeing the chip from the Houston Club in the Potters auction brought back a really weird memory.
Back in 2014, Gene Trimble found a hub mold chip with the initials "HC" intertwined and saw it belonged to the "Houston Club" in Houston, Texas, ordered in 1946.
He asked me if I knew anything - which I did not. I did some looking and discovered that the club was housed in an eight story building not too far from the building I was working in. As a matter of fact, I was on the 67th floor of a building that looked down in the direction of the Houston Club's address.
Gene asked for a picture and for some reason, I just couldn't find the building. Why?? Well, it turns out the city imploded the building THE DAY BEFORE!
How weird is that timing???
