Claudine Williams was a keynote speaker at one of the earlier chip convention's banquets. Very nice lady. There may be some info on her talk archived on the club website and/or a write-up about that banquet speech in the club magazine issue that followed the convention that year.
Note that the earlier Holiday Queen "showboat" casino was "sailing" perpendicular to the LV strip, with the Holiday Inn tower behind. They were run separately at that time. Originally, Holiday Inn chose not to have a gaming license, so the casino was a separate entity, though connected with a hallway to the hotel tower. The "Holiday Casino" chip series were also used in the configuration too (prior to the expansion below). Those include the ones that say "Holiday Casino / Holiday Inn - Center Strip". I did play in that that casino, though not all the way back to the "Holiday Queen" days.
When Holiday Inn expanded, the "showboat" casino was rebuilt and it "sailed" parallel to the LV strip. Holiday Inn may have acquired a gaming license by then (not sure). Eventually, Harrah's (a public corporation) acquired the property as their first Las Vegas operation. Re-branded and re-themed as the current Harrah's property.
Gene T. wrote about the Holiday Queen chips. Maybe on David's site, though I haven't checked.
