Re: Jackpot Auctions shut down some years ago

Founded by a couple of chip club members. Operated for 8-10 years (?), though pretty minimal in its last years. One of the investors/operators (Norm Clem) had a lot of his own items on there -- chips / silver strikes / roulettes were his main areas. It competed with ebay for a while, though much smaller. As ebay added bells & whistles, J/A lost a lot of listings. Also, one of the founders then passed away, and it later shut down for lack of traffic.

Trivia: at the conventions, they were known for bringing free sodas & snacks for attendees. I liked the couple -- very friendly -- though can't remember their name right now.
