Bob’s father Chester ran the South Side numbers operation in Pittsburgh for almost 50 years out of his Lotus Club. The Lotus had craps, strippers, hookers, all the gambling food groups.

As college kids in the Burgh in the early 1960s, we would sharpen up our fake IDs and get into the Lotus Club on weekends.

The joint was not for the feint of heart though, the Stupak’s were well connected with the Pittsburgh mob and took no crap from anyone trying to cop freebies from the strippers! Of course this was just what I observed, I never tried such action!
