A large percentage of your annual dues goes for the magazine cost. The club stays afloat because it makes money on the convention. The magazine cost is based on how many pages (it goes in blocks of 8 pages), type of paper used, color, setup cost, shipping, etc. If I remember correctly we asked the vendor once what the cost reduction would be to print half as many magazines and the reduction was minimal.

Perhaps our current Treasurer or other board member can chime in with more details and accurate costs.
