~~~ using my mail-in ballot which the supervisor of elections told me was mailed to my street address on 22 October... which I never received and, upon calling their office three times, I was assured that I would receive the ballot and that I did not have to go vote in person. Their office would let callers know the waiting time at each location which in my area was between 2 hours and 2 hours and 30 minutes... I attempted three times to drive to each location within Loxahatchee and the public library in Wellington where the line was unbelievably long. I called them Friday, before election day and they said that I should wait until Monday to see if it's in the mail. When I call them Monday afternoon they asked me if I checked with my mailman and if he had my ballot, which I thought was strange, and when I questioned it they said have you tried going down to your main post office to see if your ballot is there and, of course, none of this made any sense until the next day when I heard on the local news that ballots have been found in the USPS system. I do know for a fact that it was publicly known on election day prior to noon that I have not voted yet... and this is fact. So I can understand the concern for the late ballots that arrived after election day while still postmarked 3 November... and I doubt if I'm the only person with this story.
This is the first time I've not voted in a general election...
