Microsoft is pushing a switch over to subscription based Office 365.
In doing so they have loaded a program on the computer that keeps sending messages to buy into
the new program. this program has also affected the files that were once opened by
the older 2000 series of Office.

Anyone know a way to disable the 365 notices so any files to be opened will revert to the
2000 series applications?

Barring a fix, are there any Office clones available that will work with Word or Excel files?

Help would be greatly appreciated otherwise I may go over to the MAC side.
