COVID lurking about only complicates the search for a vaccine or a "cure." My guess is that COVID will morph into something like the flu - many varieties and even when we get a flu shot - we can still pick up another form of that. So assuming in the future we can get COVID vaccine - it may protect only against some strains, or we would contract a less severe form of the disease. (Which may be okay, I'd not mind some sniffles and an upset stomach vs. a trip to the hospital ICU and intubation . . . or worse.) All unknown at this time!
