SOME PEOPLE HAVE COMPULSIONS TO GAMBLE, SOME TO AMASS FORTUNES AND OTHER’S, WELL THEY JUST LIKE TO WRITE STORIES. YEAH, THAT WOULD BE ME. I HAVE ALWAYS LIKED TO WRITE, NEVER WAS VERY GOOD AT IT; BUT I HAVE DONE IT OVER THE YEARS JUST THE SAME.
IF ANY OF YOU WANT ANY INSIDE INFORMATION ON ANY CASINO THAT I’VE BEEN TO, I WOULD BE HAPPY TO TELL YOU WHAT I KNOW.
REGGIE
BLACK BEAR CASINO WAS A TARGET FOR NANCY AND I. WE HOPED TO BE ABLE TO STAY THERE ON ONE EVENING OF OUR TRIP TO THE BATTLE CREEK SHOW WHILE IT WAS STILL HAPPENING. IT WAS NOVEMBER, IT WAS GETTING COLD AND THE HAWK WAS HOWLING DOWN FROM CANADA.
WHEN WE GOT THERE AND LOOKED AT THEIR PARKING LOT WE WERE GIVEN HOPE, BECAUSE IT WAS NOT THAT FULL. WHEN WE GOT TO THE LOBBY AND MADE OUR REQUEST, AND THEY SMILED YES; WE IMMEDIATELY REGISTERED AND WENT UP TO OUR VERY WELL APPOINTED, WARM AND COMFY ROOM. THEN WE CAME DOWN TO GAMBLE AND HAVE A BITE TO EAT.
UFORTUNATELY, THIS WAS BEFORE THEIR LATEST NEW RACK HAD BEEN SPLASHED ON THE TABLES. BUT, I SPENT MY TIME LISTENING TO THE PATTER OF THE LOCALS, SORTING OUT THE DIFFERENT AND VARIOUS TYPES OF EDGE DESIGNS OF THE OLDER SET. AND I ENDED UP WITH QUITE A FEW OF THE TYPE II EDGE DESIGNS. ON THE FLIP SIDE OF THE COIN, THEY ALL COST ME ABOUT $25 EACH, LOL.
THE BLACK BEAR CASINO WAS A VERY NICE INDIAN CASINO, AND NANCY AND I ENJOYED OUR SHORT STAY.
WE WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING TO SEE SNOW ON THE GROUND AND ALL OVER MY DODGE TRUCK. THIS WAS A CULTURE SHOCK TO THE BOTH OF US, EVEN THOUGH WE WERE STILL LIVING IN TENNESSEE. WE HAVE NOT HAD TO DEAL WITH SNOW THIS EARLY IN THE YEAR.
I HAD HARVESTED ENOUGH CHIPS FOR A LONG TIME, BUT STILL NOT QUITE ENOUGH…REGGIE
