Out 2nd hurricane in 6 weeks hitting our area on the Gulf coast. I live about 50 miles west of Lake Charles on the Gulf Coast. Winds are already gusting to 50 miles an hour. The majority of folks in Texas stayed home to ride out this storm. I can see a couple medium size trees down in my neighborhood, pushed down by the wind from ground being so wet roots exposed when tree fell over.
Those poor folks in Lake Charles and surrounding area will be in another direct hit. Please send a prayer for those in southwest Louisiana who for the next 6 to 8 hours will suffer the destructive power of mother nature.
