Hi Torrey and chipboard readers. Mother Nature is cruel at times. Napa along with many other areas has taken a huge hit right now. Many Napa Valley icons have been destroyed. Turley (the winery where Tegan is the winemaker) had the fire roaring on to the property early the first day of the Glass fire. By pure luck, there were 5 fire units right in the area. The units fought hard to fight back the fire, they saved all the Turley structures and the wine storage for both Turley and Tegan's own SANDLANDS wine. Tegan has been on the property for almost 24 hours a day since the fire started. The first-day fire that burnt on the property went around them and over the hill towards Sonoma, it has come back over the hill, and has put Turley in danger tonight (Friday). Tegan is the only one on the property and has been set up with pumps and hoses into the swimming pool and a large pond. Embers are falling and he will try not to let them flare-up. Tegan is there to try and stop a flare-up and will call for help if any firefighters are available. He has safety in mind and has an exit plan. People we know have lost a lot. Cathy and I are staying busy and watching our grandchildren 5 days a week. Our home is safe for now but covered with ash. This is a tough time for many people for many reasons. I am wishing safety for everyone. Thanks for your concern.
Having fun when this is over, Steve
