For what it is worth I have always felt that the USPC to Burt transition was around 1947. Assuming that USPC had some agreements with their distributors it may have taken some time to wind down their operation and relationships. I do know that the chip operation was under very tight security. One of the USPC junior employees told me that he would deliver the payroll to the door of the chip building that was in the middle area of the card factory - kind of like in a court yard. NOBODY was allowed into the chip operation building unless they worked there. He did not know the date that production ended or anything about the transfer to Burt.

I do know that the Hunt & co. chain molds that were at USPC went back to Hunt in Chicago. At a later date they were sent to Burt, but were told that their plates would not work in the Burt press and would not be efficient. I think Burt offered them the use of the CODE & Co. Diamond Square mold that had been made an open mold when Code went out of business.
