I was just exploring the fascinating chip artwork library featured on the MOGH.
Came across this interesting set of chips designed / made by Burt Co. on the Ewing mold.
"Forbidden City Club", translated in Spanish as "Ciudad Prohibida". Produced in 4 denominations (B/1, B/5, B/25 and B/100), using the Panamanian Balboa (= B symbol) as the monetary unit.
I find the original artwork fascinating, as they produced the inlay artwork with the Spanish name, then covered with translucent sheet featuring the English name. The finished inlay would appear confusing if you didn't know about the translation underneath.
Anyway, just sharing this interesting discovery. The chip artwork library, donated by David Sarles, is a real treat IMO. Produced by hand, before the days of digital graphic arts.
