The incidence of COVID in San Diego County was deemed low enough so as to allow re-opening of its flea markets and casinos (major money-makers for the government down there). Restaurants are open for take-out but not buffet-style eating. I think the Viejas Buffet of Sorts was open - you may be seated but cannot physically go and get food items, you choose what you want from a menu and the servers bring it to you.
Yes, a couple of the vendors recognized me as "that guy who buys chips and gambling things" which is what happens if one regularly frequents a particular swap meet. I wish I could have arrived earlier in the day - it takes several hours to make the trip from Los Angeles (freeway under construction in places), and even in the best of times, the vendors start packing up their wares by about 1 PM although the flea market is officially open until 3 PM. On a very hot day, with attendance fairly low, I cannot blame them for wanting to get out early! On the other hand, "deals can be had" under such circumstances. I missed the free item giveaway that one vendor always offers on Sunday afternoons - he had already cleared his tables.
