across from I-8 burned in another fire several years back and it looked like the Valley Fire was being held from moving northward by the winds, terrain and maybe less fuel. But I could see entire mountainsides were charred from it, and suspect that Sycuan Casino - in the valley west of the fire - may have had to close down if only because of the heavy smoke.
