A huge MOP mailed in a plain paper envelope.

This photo with the three Dix Mille francs MOP plaques was taken by Caro in 1979 and published in a book; CASINOS. I bought the book years later and always admired the huge plaques wondering where they were from... Then, one day at the start of the Caro Collection being offered, I saw two of the plaques being offered in two lots and couldn't believe my eyes... a plaque I had admired for years now showing up on eBay. I phoned Robert Eisenstadt and asked him to turn to page 117, in the book, and we decided to take one each. Robert had bought other lots while I bought just the one plaque; the one in the center with the shaded field... Not only was the envelope plain paper, it was a very light-weight stock which was virtually the same exact size of the plaque. I couldn't believe it when I opened my P.O. box and took it out as I ripped open the envelope. It was in new, perfect shape, undamaged. Then, a few weeks later (we were both buying from Serge, away from eBay) while Robert was buying some other pieces, Serge had mentioned he had one more of the Dix Mille plaques and Robert bought it, the one on the top in the photo. Though I have shown mine before, here, one of Robert's is featured on his MOP page with a full description. All three have a blank obverse and I have never seen another MOP as big as these.
