And then unexpectedly cancels the auction (obviously having been told about it, or offered a really better deal off e-Bay). Says, "I've lost the item." Yeah, like his pet Prairie Dog just buried it in a hole in his backyard?
But a sudden cancellation of an auction item is also okay by eBay if the proper explanation is given since the seller cannot complete the deal. Moral: bid fast to win a Buy-It-Now, and if you're a seller, tie a string to your Prairie Dog so you can reel him back with the stolen chip.
