Ethical?

Recently I bought a couple chips on eBay in a "Buy It Now" sale.
The chips appear to be worth well more than what the seller had asking and I knew and understood this.
A couple of days afterwards I contacted the seller to see if they were sitting on a stack of them or were they as rare as I believe them to be and was told this...
"I had 3 people message me telling me I sold them WAYYY too cheap. If you have a conscience you can pay what they are worth".
I responded "two things about this...
First, I don't come to eBay to pay for what things are worth and second, I don't know you or how many you have so they may be worth just what I paid for them.
Regardless of how you feel I may have dealt with this seller, is it ethical to have other collectors contacting sellers to let them know whether or not they sold chips or anything for that matter at a proper value?
It not only makes the seller feel like crap having not gotten the value out of their sale but also damages any relationship a buyer may have with the seller going forward.
It really frustrates me that this had occurred.
Any two cents?
Thanks, Jim
