you forgot blacks, gays, women, minorities, etc. when you mentioned japanese americans. they were all persecuted as well.
Yes, the internment camps were a disgrace, but if you cite japanese-americans, we must also remember america killed millions of innocent japanese women & children in nightly fire bombing raids on civilians. the us also committed the greatest atrocity in human history by dropping the "bomb" on hiroshima and nagasaki.
The us has progressed from internment camps to locking up more people in cages than any other country....racial inequities, unfair cash bail system, failed war on drugs, and a president who cant stop sign executive orders designed to send more people to prison with longer sentences.
Yes, the "greatest generation" had many flaws, but today's inept politicians coupled with our out-dated, ineffectual, polarizing two party system, will hamper recovery for years, maybe decades.
