Possibly, but I think if/when it was used in a "I never said such a thing!" manner, the poster would be called out on it and future posts would be scrutinized more carefully in the future, or the poster would largely be ignored. On the other hand, an edit feature could be quite useful. Facebook allows it, and in the past, the post would show an "Edited" notation below so people would know it wasn't the original. Typos, missing negations ("not"), and other small transgressions are easily fixed and can make posts less embarrassing. In other words, I'm on team "allow editing" fully knowing the perils involved. But unless someone buys the original BBS software and takes the (extensive) time to modify it, or until Mr. Spragg opts to replace the current software with a newer, more current (and supported?) one, it's a moot point. We'll all survive, I'm sure.
