I can see why you are playing around with the different inserts, it appears that the shape is an extension of the actual graphic that you are using. Even though the design is nice and simple, I feel it is the font and text that is on the image that is making it busy. Keep the image but maybe play around with the how the text and font is showing up on the rest of the insert.

When it comes to the mold, I am like the rest and want mine to be all the same so it feels like it is complete and not pieced together. At this point it is what mold you like best and not someone else's opinion. Look at it as if you were sitting down at a table and looking at these for the first time and what would make you want to collect a complete set versus maybe just one chip.
