Walt, you made some good points. I am leading an effort to make improvements to the HOF Selection process.
In the elections for club officers, one and only one individual from a group of candidates for each position is determined. The HOF Selection process also starts with a group of candidates, but each candidate is evaluated on their own merits, it is not a competition. Any number of individuals, or none, may be inducted in any year.
I welcome any suggestions for improving the HOF Selection process.
BTW ... I am not singling out any one individual by saying this, certainly not you Walt, it just seemed a good time to mention this. When you encounter something that doesn't seem right, it is an excellent idea to take action. But, the action that should occur is to think the situation out. Look at it from more than one perspective, what are the other guys thinking? Talk about it to those who are knowledgeable and to those with other points of view to increase your understanding. Then, come up with a suggestion for improvement. That is how you can be helpful.
