"Puzzling" bidding on this eBay chip

Here's a $5 Black Orchid chip. This series has had unusual sales activity over the years, on occasion, so I had it on my watchlist, just out of curiosity. Not my sale, and I'm not a bidder at all, just watching.

The chip was listed previously at $99.99, got 1 bid which was later retracted, and ended as unsold. The seller resisted it, and the result was a final sale value of $255.55. Multiple bidders this time, but the top action was between 2 buyers -- a "0" feedback buyer, plus an experienced underbidder (5193 feedbacks) going back and forth. Check the "Bid History" to see the pattern.

Also, the underbidder seems to have a lot of bid retractions on his profile as well.

Not sure what to make of the transaction.

Most eBay auctions these days are pretty straightforward. This one's a head-scratcher.
