Barry,
Let me try to answer some of your concerns here. Please note that I am limited in what I can do as the program I am using is free and pre-built.
"I suggest that you add a more refined search. For instance, I only collect $5 Nevada chips. If I go to "Other Nevada Cities", the only thing I can do is search for "5.00", but when I do that, it "finds" chips you're SELLING for $5.00, not the denomination $5.00. I would have to click through a lot of pages and search each page for what I'm looking for. I would suggest you create drop-downs for various criteria that people might search for, or add keywords to your descriptions and allow people to search description for items of interest."
Answer: If you only want to see 5.00 Nevada Chips you can put 5.00 Nevada in the search box at the top any page. This will narrow the search down to just that but note my bring in some 25.00 chips also but I don't have many of those. The categories are there only to put like chips together for those who only collect say Las Vegas or Missouri. On the front page there is this note which helps explain another feature.
"To find specific chips you can use the Search function at the top of the page or if you are looking for specific denominations click the chips pictured below and all chips with those denominations will appear. Under the Fractional Brand you can find .25, .50, $2.00, $3.00 and $4.00 chips".
So if you only collect 5.00 chips you can go to the Home page click on the Sioux City Sue chip and it will pull every chip I have categorized in the 5.00 section.
Here is what happens when I click that chip.

"Additionally, if you can show the number of chips in the category and/or search results, that would be helpful as well. I can't tell how many chips I'm about to wade through. When numbers are high, I know to refine my search to narrow things down."
Answer: The issue with the number of chips in each category. I have tried to do that but when I add the feature and because of the program the site runs down to almost a dead stop. This has to do with the amount of effort the program is using to count each item every time you refresh the page. This again is the product of using free software and I am no expert on building my own.
" Increase the max # of chips viewable per page. 100 is the max I can see at a time, with an unknown number of pages to search through. If your server can handle it, include an "all" option. Otherwise, let us go to 500 or even 1000 per page, please."
Answer I have the program maxed at the number of items you can see at one time which is 100. Yes I would like to have more option but up until this year the site carried maybe 2000 items so the 100 max was not as big of an issue.
The best option if you are looking for a specific area or chip just do a quick search which is located at the top of the page. For example if you want to see every 1.00 Las Vegas chip I have to offer just type 1.00 Las Vegas and it will pull them all up. Right now there is 389. You can also sort by name buy using the Name A-Z and it will put them in alphabetical order.
Thanks for the notes and hope I answered your question. If you have an additional concerns please feel free to use my contact me form on the site and I can help walk you through additional search features.
