I guess it really depends on what you want to spend to do it. For software there is:

which is on CD and goes for $80. There is a learning curve to the app and you will need to scan in a lot of your collection for images because it is limited to what it comes with.
If you want cheaper I would say to pay for a year membership for the CCA and that will then give you the full access to the http://www.chipguide.com/ where you can easily go through and just put a check mark next to what you have and then easily print it out later.
The other way is to use a spreadsheet program and then you can set it up however you want and put ant text and image to it as well. Personally, I use a combination of all three.
