I don't post on the chipboard very often these days and so apologies if anyone else has already posted this, but I have just received an email from the Rendezvous Casino in Southend in England to say that they will not be reopening after the covid-19 shutdown. They say that trading has been difficult anyway and so I guess the lockdown was the final straw. No doubt there will be other business failures where things were tough and the pandemic has just made it too much to recover from.

A shame as the staff in this location (of the three casinos in Southend) were always the most accommodating and helpful and the restaurant was the best of the three IMO. Or perhaps I just felt I had better luck there! Will have to go and check what chips I have - I didn't cash in smaller amounts as I figured that I would always be back soon.
