Hit the fan first thing this morning. Political types in Kansas seem to know very little about Indian gaming. The only thing that means anything is the 10.24 acres taken into trust, The tribe can open trailers with class II machines tomorrow if they choose, of course that's not the plan. The 90 acre amusement park will be incorporated into the master plan, of course there will not be gaming on that parcel. If Kansas is smart they will negotiate a compact and get a piece of the pie. If they fail to negotiation good faith the tribe will go ahead with class II plans and eventually the Department Of Interior will force a compact based on the agreements with the other operating Kansas tribes. The state won't like it, but the Indians won that one.
