So the convention got cancelled and now I am sitting on a $400 ticket to a closed town. I only have 3 weeks to rebook it so I figured I better get busy. I managed to turn my ticket into a trip to Denver in the middle of August where we will drive to Yellowstone and back and maybe taking in one of the Utah National Parks we missed last trip. Southwest is having a sale today for $99 each way to Las Vegas so I still have $200 left that I have to use before September. I figured why not visit Vegas anyway? So I made some late July reservations for Cindy and I since we also have a few free nights left at NY NY which is supposed to open by July 1. Total cost of the trip will be $200 for her ticket, a ridiculous $40 per night resort fee and food. But not bad since it beats giving Southwest my $200 and getting nothing for it. The $99 flights are good until Sept 1. I just hope this virus doesn't make a quick recovery and I have to cancel again. Time will tell.
