The entire chipping family has a huge hole in their heart after learning a true friend is no longer with us. He was a giant in this hobby, and treated everyone with kindness and friendship. I met him at my first convention, and he talked to me like a seasoned collector. He even went as far to explain some chips to me that I wanted to collect. The next day he met me at his booth with a handful of Puerto Rico chips -- He went to his shop before the convention opened, picked up the exact chips we were talking about, and he gave them to me without charge because I was a newbie -- made me feel like I had a big brother as he encouraged me to continue and grow with this hobby. He was a great businessman and I considered him a friend. Mike told me, "I will get it back, don't worry." He was my go-to guy from that point, and I would say his kindness to the new kid on the block paid off over the years that I knew him and Anne. Mike taught me a lesson that has prevailed as I always pay if forward when I meet a new member who becomes a friend when you share your knowledge with them. Mike will be remembered by all that met him as a "friend of the hobby." My prayers are with the Spinetti family -- may Almighty God grant them solace and understanding during this difficult time.
