I was staying at Circus Circus on one of my trips and walked over to Silver City to get away from CC for a bit. I hadn’t rented a car and needed a break from .... well.... the circus that was Circus. It was very nice to not have the smoke and smell. But I could see pretty quickly that this was not a viable business model for LV.

A few years later when poker got to Atlantic City, the Tropicana opened their room and spent a lot of money to open a non-smoking section of the poker room with a separate ventilation system, and closing doors, and filtration to keep the smoke and smell out and it was a joy to play there compared to the other side of the wall. I could see that being a win. When all non-smoking came to poker in AC it sort of fell apart since people would just walk a foot out of the room and light up, or come back reeking from smoke but i think much of that is gone away.

Of course we might not get poker back, or if we do it will not be the same.
