Yes, trout is king in the Sierras.
Brown & Rainbow mostly.
There is a spillway in Tahoe City where you can stand and see some of the biggest trout you can imagine.
I'm talking 3 feet long (a meter long) fish ... lots of them.
Not legal to fish for them there at the spillway, but it gives you a look at what is in the Lake to be had.
Trolling is the most effective way to catch the big ones.
And just about any feeder stream into the lake has trout, but much smaller of course.
WOW, just talking about this has me wanting to be up there right now.
