GUEST AUTHORS OF HARVEST STORIES AND THEIR ADVENTURES

A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO I STARTED ASKING GUEST AUTHORS TO SUBMIT HIS/HER’S HARVEST STORIES. (WHEN I WAS STILL DOING THE POD – PAGE OF THE DAY)
AT THIS WRITING I HAVE 60+ STORIES TO SHARE. I AM HOPING THAT A FEW MORE AUTHORS WILL STEP UP TO THE PLATE, AND THESE VERY PROLIFIC “CHIPPERS” WILL COME UP WITH A FEW MORE. I WILL CONTINUE TO RE RUN THESE STORIES THROUGH THE COMING YEAR.
THESE STORIES ARE ALWAYS INFORMATIVE AND USUALLY HAVE A BIT OF TONGUE AND CHEEK HUMOR.
IT IS ALWAYS FUN TO SHARE WITH OTHERS, DIFFERENT WAYS OF HARVESTING, THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS THAT WE HAVE FACED OUT THERE WHILE WE WERE HARVESTING.
I ALSO ASK CB POSTERS FOR PERMISSION TO RE RUN THEIR STORIES IF THEY POST IT ON CHIPBOARD.

SOBOBA CASINO HEMET, CA

STEVE GOBEL

On the drive down to San Diego I detoured here.
Busy place on a Sunday evening! No Cheap slots, the $5 in free slot play they give out to new members wouldn't work in a lot of machines and it and the $1 I put in to activate the free money lasted about 1 minute. Got a 15 cent TITO out of it to bring home. Oh Joy...
Very few table games. $15 min bets, I can play $5 hands 5 miles from my house in Las Vegas... Pai Gow table packed. A couple of open seats at 3 card pokers and holdems, a couple of weird 21 games. I sat at a Free Bet 21 table. They'll give you a free Double Down on 10 or 11, or splitting pairs, of the same amount of your original bet. So bet $15 get dealt an 11, say double down, they put a Marker next to your bet for it's doubling. Win and get paid $30 for the $15 that you risked. The Catch: On any hand, if the dealer busts with 22, then all bets push. You can bet $1 (or more) on this happening, as "an Insurance" that pays different returns depending on how many cards it takes the dealer to get to 22.
I put out my $15, + $1 on the 22. Got dealt a 17. Big whoop. Dealer turned up a 6. OK, now looking better. Play around to the dealer who uncovers a Ace, and hits her soft 17 with a 4. Tipped the dealer a buck anyway and ran with my (slightly expensive) harvested chips.
Nice enough casino, good feel and atmosphere, just no reason for me to go back, unless they come out with some new chips :-) Being from Las Vegas, I can get cheaper at home.
