I don't know if it is another hobby or just a retirement job. I go to estate and yard sales and buy all types of crap. The main purpose is to buy gold jewelry to put in my showcases in an antique mall. And I have bought a lot of that. Enough that I have only spent money generated from jewelry to buy more and I now have about $40,000 worth in my showcases. But I also buy other stuff - from oil and washer fluid for the cars, grass seed and fertilizer for the yard (why pay $35 for a bag of fertilizer when you can get it for $2-$5 at a sale?), I got a large set of J. Henkels knives for $15 a few months ago that are just great. I even bought my new in the box water softener recently at one sale. My granddaughter got a horse recently and needed a wheel barrow to haul away the horse apples. I got one the next week for her at a sale for $10. I just really enjoy it so I guess it must be a hobby.
