I'm down to the last ~200 casinos that I intend to collect. I have some valuable chips to trade @ book value both directions, and hopefully that's how I can acquire a fair number of them. Every once in a while, a chip gets overlooked on eBay and I pick it up pretty cheaply (got one from you last night, in fact). There have also been some very kind members of this club who have taken pity on "the new guy" and have let me buy some very nice chips from them well below book value, for which I'm soooo grateful. One time I was asked if I was buying a chip to resell or keep. The answer was, and is, always to keep. I do not intend to fill all of the nooks and crannies of my house with chips, and I don't want anything outside of Nevada (well, a handful of really cool looking chips HAVE made it past that gate). I just want to have one $5 chip from each Nevada casino and that's it. That's enough for me, and it's a collection I can be proud of and keep managed and viewable. Frankly, I could stop with what I have and be quite happy. If you've seen my earlier post where I have 627 chips in airtites on my desk (under a vinyl mat), you know that I get to look at them every single day, which is more than I can say for my childhood stamp and coin collection that haven't seen the light of day in decades, and there are some beauties in there as well.

Any other chips I happen to get along the way are made available for trade or sale, but those are generally common/lower-value chips and duplicates. Maybe I should trade my stamp collection for chips, eh?

I have a spreadsheet with the book values for each of my chips and I shudder when I'm reminded that the value of the remaining "few" is greater than the value of the rest of the chips I've already collected! But hey, that's the nature of the game, I suppose.
