For those of you who list items on a regular basis on ebay, you are probably aware that certain key words will invoke a pop-up notice advising you that you may be violating certain restrictions. This used to be the case on items that had the word "illegal" in them, but for the most part that is over and done with.
And because the notices are computer generated, someone has forgotten to inform ebay that more then one Native American tribe operates casinos with the tribes name in them. Unless you misspell the name of the tribe (say be replace the letter "O" with the digit zero (0), you get another notice....
Same goes for items from Cuba, North Korea, and I am sure that there are other such taboo words...
So, this morning, like most days, I did my listings early and listed a "Year of the Pig" chip from down under when I got the following pop-up:
Attention!
It appears you are trying to list an item related to the Swine Flu, or its prevention. Please be aware that eBay prohibits listings that make medical claims that have not been approved by the FDA.
Any item, not specifically approved for the prevention of Swine Flu which makes such a claim, may be removed
Go figure how a casino chip can cure the virus? If so, I have plenty in stock to help keep you healthy!
