The beach that he opened is in Jacksonville, just south of the Georgia line. An area of Florida which is safe compared to the major tourist destinations here.
Since we have been on a semi-lockdown, 23,000 people visited which was mostly by air. Drivers came in from Alabama by the thousands and were asked at checkpoints if they would agree to stay in their hotel room for 14-days (yeah, right).
Las Vegas did an excellent job in keeping there numbers down but, even with the low population and shutdown there was still a lot of cases and death.
Not sure how many people from out of state fill Las Vegas hotels but, considering from how far they will come from and where they will pass through on the way, and whose sneeze will cross their path, or if they even contracted two or three weeks earlier and feel just fine upon checking in (doing the math?), what will your population be at that point...? I think this is what's on your governor's mind... will he be able to handle a surge; hospital beds.. and then what happens if the Feds have to help..? Your governor knows exactly what will happen, and that is what most governors fear most... to be "shut down and have to start all over again." Every governor heard those words spoken loud and clear for the past three days... though, not every one of those governors are going to have thousands of people flying into their state; especially into one city via one airport. Your governor cares more about you all, first, and the $$$'s second. You all are lucky..!!!
