Today's "Chips of the Day" come from the "HORIZON CASINO & RESORT" which was located on the west side of Highway 50 at the Stateline and on the south shore of the Lake. This location first opened as the "Sahara Tahoe" in 1965, became the "High Sierra" in 1983 and the "HORIZON" in 1990. This location is now the "Hard Rock Hotel & Casino" which opened there in 2015.
