If your locale has 0 infections at the moment, what sense does it make to bunker down? Trying to prevent any infection ever borders on impossible. The idea is to slow the rate that it spreads until it burns itself out when conditions improve. Shutting everything down is a bad strategy, you will net out doing more harm than good. The current strategy is correct.
As of a few days ago the Florida Keys had no infections. If you could ever cut off a part of the US in an attempt to stop any possible infections, that would be the place to try it. So why is it not happening? Because it is not practical, and you would be making the overall situation worse. THAT would cause panic, and irrational fear can cause more damage than the virus and the threat of he virus.
The states and their governors are in the best position to determine what is best for their state, not the Federal government. In a situation like this the Federal government should support the states as best they can, and only mandate action when it is clear we ALL need to be doing the same thing.
So duck into your bomb shelter and hoard your toilet paper if it gives you comfort. Glad most people are calmly dealing with the situation and NOT panicking. BTW, after looking at some of your posting in the past few days I realize I have a zero percent chance of convincing you to calm down. The response is to reassure someone who might be tempted to panic. Don't. There yet may be a time to panic, but we are far from there right now.
