I am not going back looking for documentation, but it seems that:
¶ even if the young people seem unaffected by the virus, there is the asymptomatic (early period of infection) period of infection where the young look and feel OK, but can pass the virus on to parents, grandparents, et al.
¶ a fair amount of the young die from the virus (not all affected the same).
¶ then there are the after affects -- those young who survive often end up with damaged lungs, etc.
