While we were in Daytona for Bike Week we toured the Speedway and I spent an hour with a Speedway historian. Did any of you car guys know that the Indy Roadsters raced at Daytona in 1959? At the time the cars were running a top speed lap of 146 at Indy. They immediately ran 170 plus at Daytona. The race was won by Jim Rathman, 2 drivers were killed and they never ran again there. Very interesting if you are a car guy.
