I have no love for our President; as a life long Democrat and former President of my State's Young Democrats,I both loath and fear him....BUT, i do not think this board is an appropriate place for political or personal attacks. Our nation is going through a terrible time; the necessary action to close schools, to shut down programs and to limit many others will cost us billions--even trillions of dollars. Many people in the service industry and others will suffer critical loss of incomes as restaurants, amusements and businesses shut down. My concern is for my family; my friends and every person who will suffer as a result of actions taken in response to the pandemic. However one views the President's words and action, he didn't cause nor contribute to what our people are now going through.
A personal story: My granddaughter was in Spain as student in residence for the semester. When her University ended the program as Spain for all practical purposes shut down, she had to make her way home. To get a direct from Madrid to NYC she was told the cost would be $3,000! This she could not afford so she flew to London, then to Morocco, and to Montreal, boarding a bus to her home in Albany and arriving at 3 this morning where she is in personal quarantine (she has no symptoms of the virus). Thankfully she is safe but I wonder if our other kids overseas have been able to make iyt home.
