I had a similar experience, Fred. My girlfriend had elderly relatives in Athens in the 1990’s. Every summer we would visit with them in Athens, and after a couple of days, fly off to a different Greek island every year. We did all the popular ones, but then started hitting less visited ones like Kos and Syros. Lost count of how many islands we visited. Unfortunately, all her relatives eventually passed away, but every so often we still head off to an island, except now there are many nonstop flights from London, so we bypass Athens altogether.
