record in my former roommate Larry's studio here. Can't remember his name . . . not sure I ever met him but Larry told him I collected casino chips and he was amazed to hear about it. The man played accordion, and I remember Larry saying that he later passed away (he was elderly by the time he was recording here).
Bits and pieces of the story I remember: his wife came up with the four-leaf clover design on the chips because she said, you have to put something "lucky" on them to attract players.
He lost the club (think it was the New one) - legal troubles, accused by the State I think of some indiscretion. Of which there are many possible. Don't think the owner himself was corrupt, just got mixed up with others who might have been.
