~~~ first, let me be clear; Greg named this site the ChipBoard, and I'm pretty sure he had a pretty good reason for doing so.
Second, which has been made public here by David; that (condenced) he will continue to maintain it as Greg did... and he is.
Pertaining to the index; there have been several posts trough the years by mostly newer collectors at the time wishing there were not as many non chip posts as there was back then (thus the NCR was instituted afterwards for the obvious reasons)... being that their main interest in coming here while online (not everyone had a computer at home back then) was for chips, new information and learning (back then some of our educators, authors and historians were regulars here).... So, to make a long story short, the complaint would be that they "had to wade through endless amounts of posts" in order to get back to "the meat.." and several used to complain that all the posts that had nothing to do with chips were pushing "the meat" way down the index and eventually, prematurely, off the index as they had it set and missing what they would have not missed if those non chip posts did not exist... which all boils down to a non cluttered index is better than a cluttered index even if some "chips for sale posts" are part of the clutter when not condensed (10 posts with one chip for sale per post vs. 1 post with 10 chips for sale is something to be concerned about, as I understand it).
