As a kid growing up in Miami Beach I remember the americana hotel in the Bal Harbour area it was a beautiful hotel with a big show room cabana club and many exotic restaurants and bars. It was built in the late 1950s after the Fountainbleau and the Eden Roc hotels..... all by the same architect Morris Lappius. Remember all of these large hotels were ready and wired for casino legalize gambling, But the voters turned it down over and over again .... that’s why Havana Cuba became a major gambling mecca in the Caribbean. American Airlines wanted to have resort hotels to sell travel packages to their customers these hotels are located in major cities like New York, San Juan Puerto Rico and others ... now long gone and re-branded. Too bad I always wanted Miami Beach to have legalized gambling it would’ve been like Las Vegas only with an ocean next to it.... the same owners the same gangsters the same names.... thanks for reading my post take care
