The Wine House opened in 1874 by Eli Francovich and remained in the family until it closed
in 1960. According to Kling they had more gambling prior to 1931 than after. My girlfriend remembers
eating there many times in the 50s and the plates that had Wine House on them. (Somebody
must have one) I especially like the 1936 Buckley Track Odds horse race machine shown in the
lower left corner. Honest Johns had one that I played almost nightly. One of those neat medallions
was installed in the foyer over the front door of the Comstock in Reno when it was built.
