Example: Wide rim vs. Narrow rim Variation with ~~

~~~ a Natural rim even though both Tigers are virually the same and both rims are "Natural" -- meaning without color.
...and one of my two remaining examples of the Wide rim with a fracture (crack) in the inner ring (in the 3 to 6 o'clock area) that I mention in this thread... and these fractures can be detected by holding the chip up to a light where it will pass through if not filled in and, even in that case sometimes a color difference can be noticed between the original rim pigment and whatever was used in the crack or, you can look for shrinkage in the fill or where particles of the fill have dislodged.
Why would you want to do this or even care? Because that fine crack can eventually spread as can that little stone nick on an automobile windshield and turn the chip into a piece of worthless ivory... grin
