As a teenager I worked down the street at the Eden Roc hotel ... the Hilton Miami Beach Hotel was bought by Hugh Hefner and it was changed and became the Playboy Plaza Hotel and maybe (casino) ? There was a referendum at the time to legalize gambling in Miami Beach and many hotel owners prepared their ballrooms to be wired for slot machines well guess what the old senior citizens voted it down blaming corruption, loose ladies and congestion.
