While trying to get out of the tough Houston area traffic after returning from a great cruise ship vacation, accidentally got off on an early exit and was slightly lost. Too proud to stop and ask for directions, I plowed on until I saw an old gas station with a sign urging passerbys to look at sales items inside a very old dilapidated shop. Stopped, and went inside. Owner had some good looking antiques, and as I was leaving, asked if he had any casino chips or tokens. His reply, "I have one that I picked in Las Vegas years ago, and it is for sale." I said that's nice, and was leaving, when he added: "It's for sale for what I paid for it. I said I will take a look. Riffling through a roll top desk, the man said here it is, but it is probably not worth very much. He said, "I will take what I paid for it, if you are interested." The chip I bought is below. Face value $5 and I said deal upon seeing it. Does anyone have an estimated value of this magnificent looking chip that has been saved from some potential scrap heap or perhaps lost forever. Any ideas about value?
