Interesting article in today's LVRJ on the history of Jackson Street clubs and casinos from the
40s, 50s, and 60s. It was where one could see Pearl Bailey, Sammy, and James Brown among
others perform. There were "tons of white people", Cadillacs, and people dressed in furs.
